Art Opening: Works in Mohair by Pop Wagner, March 11

The woven fiber cinches Pop Wagner designs and makes have their lineage in the tradition of Navajo cinch makers. In Navajo culture, the horse was incorporated into daily living and into rites and ceremonies.  Articles related to the horse rightfully had great value. This reverence for fine craft and design of the utilitarian cinch can be seen in the work of modern day mohair cinch makers, Navajo and non-Navajo alike. [More]
